Maria Danyiova Appointed as Group Head of Talent & Culture at Arora Group

London, England, United Kingdom, April 2025 – Maria Danyiova has taken on a new role as Group Head of Talent & Culture at Arora Group, where she will oversee the strategic development of talent acquisition, organizational culture, employee engagement, and workforce planning across the group’s diverse business interests. Based in the United Kingdom, Maria brings more than 15 years of human resources leadership experience across the hospitality, property, and care sectors.

Prior to joining Arora Group, Maria served as Group Director of Human Resources at Crown & Champa Resorts in the Maldives, where she led HR strategy for a portfolio of 12 properties and over 3,200 employees. Her work spanned organizational development, compliance, workforce restructuring, and leadership development, contributing to the success of several Forbes 5-Star rated resorts.

She also held HR leadership roles at Renaissance Downtown Hotel Dubai and multiple Marriott International properties including JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, London Marriott Park Lane, London Marriott Hotel Kensington, and others. Across these roles, she successfully led talent strategies, L&D programs, cultural transformation initiatives, and HRIS implementation projects.

Maria’s international HR experience also includes time as a Support Worker at New Horizon Care Group in the UK and a recent stint as a Property Development Manager, where she managed refurbishment and rental operations in Slovakia, showcasing her entrepreneurial mindset and adaptability.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
