Austin, Texas, United States, January 2025 – Mark Derderian has stepped into the role of Director of Manufacturing Talent Development at Applied Materials, marking a new chapter in his extensive career with the company. In this capacity, Mark will lead efforts to develop and implement strategies that enhance workforce capabilities and support operational excellence within the organization’s manufacturing division.

Mark’s association with Applied Materials spans over 26 years, during which he has taken on a variety of roles showcasing his expertise in talent and operations management.

In his most recent role as Manager of World-Wide Operations Talent Development, a position he held for seven years, Mark spearheaded initiatives to strengthen the company’s talent pool globally. His contributions included executive development, talent planning, and workforce optimization, which significantly enhanced operational effectiveness across the organization.

Prior to this, Mark served as Manager of Integrated Talent Management, where he introduced integrated training programs and competency frameworks to support employees’ growth trajectories. His dedication to building a resilient workforce was evident during his tenure as Training Program Manager, where he designed and implemented learning solutions tailored to meet the needs of Applied Materials’ dynamic operations.

Earlier in his career, Mark contributed as Manufacturing Operations Manager and Engineering Technician, building a strong foundation in operations management that now informs his strategic approach to workforce development.
