Tampa, Florida, United States, December 2024 – Monica Jaramillo has joined Anitox, a key member of the Iluma Alliance, as the Chief People Officer. In this role, Monica will oversee the company’s human resources strategy, focusing on talent development, diversity, and organizational culture to support Anitox’s mission of delivering innovative solutions for safer food production.
Monica joins Anitox with extensive experience in global HR leadership. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Human Resources at North Star BlueScope Steel, where she led strategic initiatives to enhance workforce engagement and streamline HR operations. Prior to this, Monica was VP of People US Operations and Global Lead for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at Treatt, where she championed global diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, as well as leadership development programs across the organization.
During her 12-year tenure at Gerdau, Monica held several leadership roles, including Head of HR North America, where she oversaw HR and labor relations for the U.S. and Canada, driving cultural transformation and digital innovation. In her previous role as Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager in Colombia, Monica supported over 2,000 employees and achieved industry-leading results in employee engagement and cultural transformation.
Earlier in her career, Monica served as Regional HR Manager for Northeast Brazil and HR Manager for the Usiba Mill in Bahia, Brazil. Her leadership in these roles contributed significantly to organizational development and employee satisfaction, earning her recognition as a benchmark leader within the Gerdau group. Monica also gained early career experience at Avon and Ford Motor Company, where she developed expertise in HR processes, training, and expatriate management.
