Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, April 2025 — Burgess Cooper has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adani Group’s newly launched Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity business. In this strategic role, he will drive the Group’s mission to secure critical infrastructure assets such as financial networks, factories, and power grids, reinforcing Adani’s vision for a future secured by advanced cybersecurity solutions.
Burgess brings with him decades of deep expertise in cybersecurity leadership. Prior to joining Adani Group, he spent a decade at EY, where he served as Cybersecurity Partner and Deputy Leader, leading complex consulting engagements across industries and helping organizations strengthen their digital resilience. His role at EY allowed him to work closely with large corporations on their cybersecurity transformation journeys.
Before EY, Burgess held pivotal leadership roles at Vodafone India, where he served as SVP & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). During his eight-year tenure, he managed the brand’s cybersecurity and privacy operations, fortifying one of India’s largest telecommunications infrastructures against evolving threats.
Earlier in his career, Burgess was part of HSBC, serving as Assistant Vice President – Information Security, where he contributed to safeguarding the bank’s global financial systems and customer data at a time when cybersecurity was becoming increasingly critical to the banking sector.
With his comprehensive understanding of operational and information security, Burgess is uniquely positioned to lead Adani Group’s OT cybersecurity business into its next phase of innovation and growth. His appointment comes at a pivotal time as the Group continues to expand its infrastructure portfolio and invest in next-generation technologies to support national and global development.
