Singapore, January 2026 — Odette Engelbrecht has started a new role as People Lead South-East Asia & Australia, TA Lead APAC at Alvarez & Marsal, where she will spearhead people strategy, talent management and regional talent acquisition transformation across Asia Pacific.
Odette Engelbrecht joins Alvarez & Marsal following an impactful career spanning over two decades across global consulting, banking and technology organizations. Most recently, she spent nearly eight years with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Singapore as Senior Director – Global Strategy & Transformation, Talent Management & Talent Acquisition, where she led large-scale global people and recruiting transformations. Her work included building global talent strategies, leading DEI transformation initiatives, architecting HR CoE operating models, digitizing recruitment frameworks, and positioning BCG as an employer of choice across Asia Pacific.
Prior to BCG, she held senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as Head, Strategic Workforce Planning | Talent Management and earlier as Regional Head Talent Acquisition & Mobility – Africa. In these roles, she led workforce planning, organization design, onboarding frameworks and talent mobility strategies across multiple geographies including Asia, Africa, the UK and the Middle East, strengthening long-term business sustainability.
Earlier in her career, Odette built a strong technology and consulting HR foundation with Microsoft, where she held multiple leadership roles including Chief of Staff – Multi Country Cluster, Consulting Services, HR Business Partner – MEA Consulting Services, and Talent Acquisition Lead – Africa, Pakistan & Eastern Mediterranean. She began her professional journey with Deloitte as a Senior Consultant and earlier with Network Recruitment as Senior Technology Recruiter, building deep expertise in recruitment, consulting delivery and people strategy.
