Bentonville, Arkansas, United States, July 2026 — Sam’s Club has appointed Pilar D. as Vice President, People. In her new role, she will serve as the people partner for the company’s Marketing and eCommerce organizations, supporting two strategic functions that continue to shape and enhance the member experience.
Pilar takes on this leadership role after more than 12 years with Walmart, where she has built an extensive career across compensation, total rewards, strategic planning and investor relations. Most recently, she served as Vice President – Global Compensation for nearly one year. Prior to that, she spent around two years as Vice President – Total Rewards, Walmart International, leading global compensation and well-being initiatives. Earlier, she served in Total Rewards leadership for Walmart Mexico and Central America, where she helped shape compensation and employee well-being strategies across the region.
Before moving into HR leadership, Pilar spent more than eight years in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations roles within Walmart, where she contributed to corporate strategy, business planning and enterprise growth initiatives.
Earlier in her career, she served as Commercial Planning Manager at Sam’s Club for around one and a half years, gaining valuable business experience within the membership warehouse business before returning to the organization in her new executive HR leadership capacity.
Prior to joining Sam’s Club, Pilar spent more than three years with Walmart in strategic planning roles supporting healthcare and new business initiatives, building a strong foundation in corporate strategy and business development.
Pilar holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, further strengthening her leadership credentials in business strategy and organizational management.
