Hyderabad, Telangana, India, November 2025 — Rakesh Chawla has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of VML Enterprise Solutions Hub, India, marking a significant leadership addition to the organisation as it accelerates its technology-driven transformation agenda. Known for building high-performing engineering organisations and driving next-generation digital programs, Rakesh brings vast experience across global enterprises including InvoiceCloud, Inc., Sears Holdings India, Amazon, AGNITY Healthcare, Microsoft, Monsoon Multimedia, BayPackets, and River Run Software Group. His diverse expertise in cloud modernisation, microservices, product engineering, and large-scale operational leadership positions him strongly to lead VML Enterprise Solutions Hub into its next phase of strategic growth.
Immediately prior to his new role, Rakesh Chawla served as Managing Director & Senior Vice President – Engineering at InvoiceCloud, Inc., where he successfully built and managed the company’s India GCC and Centre of Excellence. During this period, he strengthened global engineering capabilities, expanded SaaS innovation programs, and led high-scale technology teams supporting the organisation’s enterprise clients.
Before InvoiceCloud, Rakesh spent nearly six years as Managing Director & Vice President Engineering at Sears Holdings India, where he led two major development centres across Pune and Hyderabad. He managed engineering and operations teams spanning 182 professionals, drove a large-scale transformation from legacy systems to cloud platforms on AWS and Google Cloud, established a new development centre in Hyderabad, migrated critical applications from the US to India, and built a strategic insourcing model from partners such as TCS and Infosys. His leadership also spanned multiple business units, enterprise analytics, retail systems, and digital commerce platforms including Sears.com and Kmart.com.
Prior to Sears, Rakesh held key leadership roles at Amazon, serving first as Director of Engineering in Chennai, where he led engineering for Amazon Kindle, and later as Director Engineering in Delhi, where he drove the tech stack for Amazon Marketplace across seven international markets. His contributions included building content platforms, web frameworks, catalogue systems, and acting as an Agile coach to distributed teams.
Earlier in his career, Rakesh held senior engineering leadership positions across various technology organisations. At AGNITY Healthcare, he served as Vice President Engineering, leading IoT-driven healthcare products. At Monsoon Multimedia, he worked as Senior Vice President – Engineering & GM India, driving development centres and video-streaming innovations. During his tenure at Microsoft, he led emerging markets strategy and managed unified communications products. He also served as Director Engineering at BayPackets, and earlier, as Business Unit Manager – Mobile Computing at River Run Software Group.
