Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2026 — Ramesh Vishwanathan has begun a new chapter as Chief Executive Officer of FPSB India, bringing with him more than three decades of leadership experience spanning financial services, insurance, banking partnerships, business transformation, distribution management, and strategic growth.
In his new role, Ramesh will lead FPSB India’s efforts to further strengthen professional standards in financial planning, expand the reach of the CFP® certification, and support the development of the financial planning profession across India.
Prior to joining FPSB India, Ramesh served as Head – Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships at Bharti AXA Life Insurance, where he led enterprise-wide growth initiatives, strategic alliances, business development, and revenue expansion programs. During his tenure, he successfully onboarded several high-value partnerships and played a key role in accelerating organizational growth.
Before Bharti AXA Life Insurance, Ramesh spent more than five years with Tata AIA Life Insurance, where he held multiple senior leadership roles including Chief Distribution Officer – Bancassurance, EVP & Chief Bancassurance Officer, and Chief Bancassurance Officer. He led large-scale business transformation initiatives, expanded strategic banking partnerships, strengthened distribution capabilities, and drove significant growth in business volumes and profitability.
Earlier, he served as Business Head – Micro Loans & Rural Credit Insurance at L&T Financial Services, where he managed a large rural lending portfolio, led business turnaround initiatives, expanded distribution networks, and implemented digital and risk-management frameworks to drive sustainable growth.
Ramesh also spent over four years with Reliance Nippon Life Insurance as Chief – Bancassurance & Partnership Distribution, overseeing multiple distribution channels, group insurance operations, strategic partnerships, and international business initiatives. His leadership contributed significantly to business expansion and operational excellence.
Prior to that, he enjoyed a successful eight-year tenure with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, rising through the ranks to become Senior Vice President & Head – Proprietary Sales Force, Corporate Agency & Broking Business. During this period, he led national sales and distribution operations, developed new partnership channels, and delivered substantial business growth.
His earlier professional journey includes leadership roles with Bharti Airtel, where he was part of the startup team that helped establish and scale telecom operations in the Maharashtra and Goa region, and Castrol India Limited, where he managed key industrial accounts and business development initiatives. He began his career with Gemini Marketing Pvt. Ltd., working in engineering solutions and business development.
Ramesh has also completed a Management Development Program in Innovation for Excellence from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, further strengthening his expertise in leadership, innovation, and strategic management.
