Richa Dagar Joins Walmart Global Tech India as Senior Director – People

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, December 2025 — Walmart Global Tech India (IDC) has announced the appointment of Richa Dagar as Senior Director – People, marking a key addition to its leadership team. With nearly two decades of experience in human resources leadership, organizational development, and cultural transformation, she brings a deep understanding of people strategy that will further strengthen Walmart IDC’s innovation-driven workforce culture and leadership capabilities.

In her new role, Richa will focus on advancing the company’s people vision, building leadership capacity, and reinforcing Walmart IDC’s high-performance culture that supports global innovation and inclusivity. Her appointment aligns with the organisation’s commitment to fostering a workplace where technology talent thrives through empowerment, agility, and collaboration.

Before joining Walmart Global Tech India, Richa had an illustrious 13-year career at Microsoft, where she served as HR Director for the India Development Centre (IDC). During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in scaling HR initiatives, enabling leadership growth, and embedding people-first principles across diverse business units. She previously led HR for Microsoft Research, Microsoft Consulting Services, and the Global Technical Support Centre, driving transformational programs that shaped Microsoft’s talent and culture strategies in India.

Earlier in her career, Richa served at UnitedHealth Group as Senior Manager – Recruitment, leading technology and shared services hiring strategies. She began her HR journey with Elixir Web Solutions, developing a strong foundation in strategic resourcing and people engagement.

Richa holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (HR) from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, and an IGNIIT certification in Computer Science from NIIT—a combination that reflects her balance of human capital and technology insight.

Her appointment underscores Walmart IDC’s continued focus on integrating strategic HR leadership with technological excellence to drive sustainable growth and innovation.
