Sateesh Kamath Promoted to Deputy CFO of Vodafone Group

London, United Kingdom, January 2026 – Sateesh Kamath has been promoted to Deputy CFO of Vodafone Group, marking a significant milestone in his two-decade-long journey with Vodafone. Reflecting on his career, Sateesh shared that when he joined Vodafone as a young professional in supply chain, he could not have imagined the global exposure and leadership opportunities that lay ahead. He expressed deep gratitude to the leaders, colleagues, and teams who shaped his professional and personal growth across continents and cultures.

Over the last three years, Sateesh has served as Global Finance Director at Vodafone, following his tenure as Chief Financial Officer – EU Cluster, where he oversaw finance operations for businesses generating approximately €21 billion in revenue and €8 billion in annual investments across Europe, Australia, India, and partner markets. He also continues to serve as Non-Executive Director at Vodafone Idea Limited, strengthening governance and strategic oversight for one of Vodafone’s key joint ventures.

Between 2020 and 2023, Sateesh was Chief Financial Officer of Vodafone Business, driving financial transformation and performance across enterprise markets. Prior to this, he spent four impactful years with Safaricom PLC in Kenya as Chief Financial Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer, where he played a pivotal role in steering one of Africa’s most successful telecom operators. Earlier, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Vodacom Tanzania Plc, strengthening financial controls and business strategy in East Africa.

Sateesh’s long association with Vodafone began in 2004, during which he held multiple leadership roles for over a decade including Regional Controller (AMAP) and Group Vice President, shaping financial strategy across emerging markets. His early career included finance leadership positions at Amara Raja Batteries Ltd, Coca-Cola, and Coats, providing him with a strong foundation across industries and geographies.

He completed senior leadership studies at London Business School and is a Certified Cost Accountant from The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

As he steps into his new role, Sateesh has articulated a clear vision of building a “One Finance” organization—bringing Group and operating company finance teams together with a unified mindset and shared purpose, ultimately focused on serving Vodafone customers better.
