London, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 – William Reed Ltd, a trusted name in the global food and drinks industry for over 160 years, has announced the appointment of Sean Penistone as its new Head of Talent. In this strategic leadership role, Sean will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s talent agenda, driving recruitment, development, and succession planning strategies to strengthen William Reed’s world-class workforce and future capabilities.
Sean Penistone brings nearly three decades of experience in talent management, leadership development, and organizational capability across multiple industries including FMCG, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and technology.
Before joining William Reed, Sean was with Kerry Group for over three years, most recently serving as Global Director of Leadership and Learning, where he spearheaded global learning and leadership strategies, led a diverse team of professionals, and strengthened digital learning ecosystems across continents. Prior to that, he served as Director of Talent Management at Kerry, shaping the global talent management vision and improving retention and leadership development outcomes across Europe.
Earlier, Sean was Head of L&D, Talent & Performance at Colt Technology Services, where he modernized learning and performance systems, implemented hybrid working strategies, and established a stronger leadership pipeline. He also held an interim consulting role at Baringa Partners, where he led change programs for the UK Cabinet Office, driving alignment with data security and regulatory standards.
During his tenure as Director of Leadership, Learning & Talent at BT Group, Sean managed a global team and led initiatives in future skills, digital transformation, and DEI, directly supporting BT’s strategic priorities in the rollout of 5G and digital capability building. At GSK, he played a pivotal role in scaling the Digital & Data Analytics function through a dynamic “buy, build, borrow” talent strategy, embedding agility, and driving AI integration across global operations.
Sean’s earlier career includes senior HR and OD roles with Astellas Pharma, Xerox, Northgate Information Solutions, Transport for London, KCOM, and Halifax, where he built and led organizational development and learning functions from the ground up. His initiatives consistently enhanced business performance, cultural transformation, and leadership effectiveness across geographies.
