Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, September 2024 – Sharon Mortimer has been appointed as the Global Head of People and Culture at Canada Life Reinsurance. In this role, Mortimer will oversee the global people and culture strategies, driving initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture across the company’s global operations.
Sharon Mortimer brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Canada Life Reinsurance. Most recently, she served as the Regional Head of Human Resources (Ireland, Canada, and U.K.) at Hannover Re, where she worked for over three years. In this capacity, Mortimer managed HR strategies and operations across multiple regions, focusing on aligning HR practices with business objectives and driving organizational growth.
Before her tenure at Hannover Re, Mortimer was the Head of HR (Ireland) at Hannover Re for nearly nine and a half years. She played a pivotal role in shaping HR policies and practices within Ireland, working to enhance employee relations and support organizational development.
Her career began as an HR Business Partner at A&L Goodbody LLP, where she worked for nearly six years. During this time, she developed and implemented HR strategies that supported the firm’s business goals and fostered a positive work environment. Mortimer’s experience at A&L Goodbody LLP also includes roles as an HR Advisor and Recruitment Coordinator, where she contributed to various HR functions and recruitment initiatives.
