Toronto, Ontario, Canada, October 2025 – McCarthy Tétrault, one of Canada’s most prestigious law firms, has appointed Sharonjit Bains as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, Sharonjit will lead the firm’s financial strategy, governance, and performance optimization across its Canadian and international offices, including New York and London. Her appointment reinforces McCarthy Tétrault’s commitment to driving financial excellence and sustainable growth through strategic leadership.
Sharonjit Bains brings nearly two decades of experience in financial leadership, with a strong track record of strategic financial planning, business performance management, and operational transformation.
Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, Sharonjit served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer – Canada at Accenture, where she was responsible for financial planning, reporting, and compliance for the firm’s multi-billion-dollar Canadian business. Her strategic oversight was instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency and financial governance for one of the world’s largest professional services organizations.
Over her 15-year tenure at Accenture, she advanced through multiple leadership roles. As Canada Finance Director, she directly reported to the President/CEO of Canada and managed financial operations and business compliance across Accenture’s major Canadian verticals. Earlier, as Manager and Specialist in Client Financial Management, she developed systemic financial processes that improved forecasting accuracy, strengthened internal controls, and enabled robust client profitability management.
Earlier in her career, Sharonjit worked as Business Analyst and Specialist in Corporate Transactional Services, where she provided financial and pricing analysis supporting multi-million-dollar client negotiations and transactional decisions. Her analytical acumen and leadership in financial transformation positioned her as a trusted business partner across multiple Accenture global functions.
