Shishir Modi Appointed as Chief Business Officer at KarmaLifeAI

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2025 — KarmaLifeAI has announced the appointment of Shishir Modi as its Chief Business Officer, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s growth journey. In his new role, Shishir will lead KarmaLifeAI’s business strategy, partnerships, and expansion initiatives to drive sustainable growth and financial inclusion across India’s rapidly evolving gig and blue-collar economy.

Shishir has been associated with KarmaLifeAI for nearly four years, playing a key role in shaping its product and business evolution in the fintech and gig economy space. His leadership has been central to the company’s efforts in building scalable financial solutions that empower millions of workers with access to fair and responsible credit.

Before joining KarmaLifeAI, Shishir co-founded Niki.ai, a pioneering AI-driven platform that aimed to bring the next 150 million “Bharat” users into the digital economy. Backed by marquee investors such as Ratan Tata, Unilazer Ventures, and Recruit Partners Japan, Niki.ai offered voice and local language-based digital commerce solutions, connecting users across India to essential financial and lifestyle services. Shishir’s entrepreneurial leadership at Niki.ai demonstrated his deep understanding of India’s digital and financial inclusion ecosystem.

Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Shishir served as Head of Strategic Initiatives at IndiaReads.com, driving key projects for scaling digital reading services, and worked with Energo Engineering Projects Limited in business operations and strategy. His early professional years were marked by strong academic and leadership engagement during his time at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where he completed a Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.

About KarmaLifeAI

KarmaLifeAI is India’s largest Earned Wage Access (EWA) player and a pioneer in the fintech ecosystem supporting the gig and blue-collar workforce. With an aim to create sustainable financial solutions for over 200 million workers by 2030, KarmaLifeAI’s AI-driven platform assesses gig workers based on behavioral data rather than traditional financial histories, enabling responsible credit and income-linked products.

The company’s plug-and-play platform seamlessly integrates with HR management systems and employer networks, providing on-demand access to earned wages and small-ticket credit to help users navigate financial challenges. By combining technology, data analytics, and inclusive financial models, KarmaLifeAI is building a sustainable future for India’s emerging workforce.
