Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2024 – Shwetal Basu has been appointed as the Senior Vice President and Head of Brand and Marketing at Polycab India Limited, a leading electrical solutions provider. In her new role, Shwetal will lead the brand and marketing strategy for Polycab, focusing on enhancing the company’s market presence and driving brand growth in the highly competitive electrical solutions sector.

Before joining Polycab, Shwetal held the role of Chief Marketing and Communication Officer (CMO) at Shoppers Stop for three years. During her tenure, she was instrumental in developing customer experience strategies, driving digital transformation, and spearheading communication initiatives that strengthened the brand’s position in the retail market.

Prior to Shoppers Stop, she was the Head of Marketing and VM at Metro Brands Limited for over three years, where she focused on product marketing and visual merchandising, leading campaigns that contributed to the brand’s growth and expansion in India.

Shwetal also worked at Aditya Birla Retail Limited for nearly six years, where she held roles such as Format Head Marketing – ABRL and Head Marketing – Hypermarkets. In these positions, she played a pivotal role in creating and executing marketing strategies for the company’s retail formats, boosting customer engagement and sales.

Her earlier career included a stint as Sr. Manager – Marketing at GIA – Gemological Institute of America, where she managed marketing strategies in the gem and jewelry sector, and as AVP – Marketing Services at HDFC Bank, where she led marketing initiatives for various financial products.

Shwetal’s journey also includes diverse marketing roles at Zicom, TATA Communications, Hutch, and PepsiCo, where she gained extensive experience across industries such as telecommunications, consumer goods, and financial services.
