Burlington, Ontario, Canada, September 2024 – Stephanie Matthews has been appointed as Vice President, People & Culture at Andrew Peller Limited (APL), Canada’s largest premium wine producer. In her new role, Stephanie will oversee the company’s human resources strategies, focusing on aligning HR with business objectives, enhancing talent management, and fostering a high-performance workforce. She will play a critical role in developing initiatives related to employee engagement, performance management, and diversity and inclusion as a member of the executive leadership team.
Before stepping into her current role, Stephanie served as the Director of Total Rewards & Wellness at Andrew Peller Limited for over 2 years. During this time, she was instrumental in leading the company’s compensation, benefits, wellness, and HRIS strategies, ensuring competitive and cost-effective programs that contributed to attracting and retaining top talent.
Prior to that, Stephanie was the People & Culture Business Partner at APL for nearly 2 years. In this role, she worked closely with business units to design and implement HR programs that aligned with company culture and business goals, providing strategic HR counsel and leadership.
Stephanie’s extensive HR experience includes her position as Human Resources Director at President’s Choice Financial for close to 3 years. She provided leadership in various HR functions such as talent management, succession planning, and leadership development, helping to drive the company’s HR strategy forward.
Earlier in her career, Stephanie worked at Loblaw Companies Limited as an HR Business Partner for over a year, where she supported multiple divisions, helping leaders implement people strategies aligned with business plans and organizational culture.
