Limited has announced the appointment of Sweta Ganguly as its new Chief People Officer, marking a significant addition to its leadership team. In her new role, Sweta will lead the company’s human capital strategy, focusing on driving organizational effectiveness, leadership capability development, and a high-performance culture that aligns with Royal Sundaram’s business growth and customer-centric vision.
With over two decades of HR leadership experience, Sweta brings extensive expertise in people management, strategic workforce planning, and talent development across the banking and financial services sector. Her appointment reinforces Royal Sundaram’s commitment to building a progressive, agile, and inclusive workplace culture as it continues to expand its market footprint in India.
Before joining Royal Sundaram, Sweta Ganguly served for over seven years at Equitas Small Finance Bank, where she most recently held the role of Senior Vice President & National Head – Business HR for Liabilities Business and Head of Talent Acquisition COE. At Equitas, she played a key role in aligning HR strategy with business goals, driving organizational capability building, and leading performance management and engagement initiatives that strengthened employee experience across multiple business units.
Earlier, at YES BANK, she spent more than a decade in progressively senior HR leadership roles, including Senior Vice President & Zonal Head, where she led HR operations for branch banking across South India. She was instrumental in talent strategy, leadership hiring, and performance management during a period of rapid business growth. Her contributions to building people processes and fostering a culture of collaboration helped establish sustainable HR frameworks across the bank’s regional operations.
Before her tenure at YES BANK, Sweta worked with TTK Healthcare TPA Pvt. Ltd., where she led the corporate HR function, and with IBM Global Business Services, managing recruitment for SAP technology roles. She began her career in sales with GE Money (formerly GE Countrywide), giving her a strong business perspective that continues to inform her HR leadership approach today.
