Karachi, Pakistan, May 2026 – Mashreq has announced the appointment of Talha Abbasi as Head – People & Intellectual Capital, MGN Pakistan.
Abbasi brings more than a decade of experience across human resources leadership, talent management, rewards, learning and development, organizational development, workforce planning, HR business partnering, and people strategy. His appointment reflects Mashreq’s continued focus on strengthening its people capabilities and supporting organizational growth in Pakistan.
Prior to joining Mashreq, Abbasi served with HRSG – Innovative Business Solutions, where he spent more than six years in progressively senior leadership roles.
Most recently, he held the position of Senior HR Business Partner – Talent Management, Rewards & Learning and Development, partnering with senior leaders on talent strategy, succession planning, rewards, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership development, performance management, diversity initiatives, and people analytics. In this role, he advised business leaders on critical people decisions while translating workforce insights into actionable business outcomes.
Before that, he served as Senior Manager – People & Culture, leading the design and governance of compensation structures, benefits frameworks, performance management systems, HR analytics, workforce cost modeling, and human capital reporting. He also played a key role in establishing people governance frameworks and standardizing HR processes across multiple business entities.
Earlier, as Manager – HR Business Partner, he partnered with business leaders on workforce planning, succession management, employee relations, learning initiatives, and organizational development efforts. He also previously served as Manager – Human Resources and Team Lead – HR Shared Services, building extensive experience across employee lifecycle management, HR operations, benefits administration, process improvement, and people governance.
Abbasi also served as Manager – Talent, Learning & Organizational Development at Ideas Private Limited, where he led recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, learning interventions, and organizational development initiatives.
Earlier in his career, he played a significant role in establishing the HR function at foodpanda Pakistan as HR Manager, supporting workforce expansion, talent acquisition, organizational structuring, policy development, employee relations, and HR process implementation during the company’s high-growth phase.
His professional journey also includes experience with Unilever Pakistan, where he supported leadership development initiatives, graduate talent programs, campus recruitment activities, and talent identification efforts. He began his career through a project internship with ICI Pakistan Limited.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Abbasi served as a Visiting Faculty Member at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), teaching Managing Human Capital to MBA students.
