Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, September 2025 — Tony Nguyen has started a new role as Head of Talent War Room – Transformation Project at ACB – Asia Commercial Bank. In this role, he will be instrumental in driving talent strategies aligned with ACB’s transformation agenda, ensuring the bank continues to strengthen its workforce capabilities while advancing innovation and sustainable growth.
Prior to this appointment, Nguyen served as Human Resource Director for the Retail Banking Division at VPBank, where he focused on building strong people frameworks, leadership development, and organisational alignment to support business expansion. His tenure also included designing HR strategies to drive performance across a fast-growing banking environment.
Previously, he was Chief Human Resources Officer at SCB – Saigon Commercial Bank, where he led HR strategy across a nationwide workforce of more than 7,200 employees. He oversaw multiple HR divisions, including talent acquisition, total rewards, talent management, and organisational development, while also consulting the Board and CEO on structure, policy, and people transformation.
Earlier, Nguyen held HR leadership roles across several leading organisations, including Gốm Sứ Minh Long as CHRO and Sacombank as Deputy HR Director, where he managed recruitment strategies, talent development, and people operations for a rapidly growing banking network. He also served as Head of Talent Acquisition at ACB between 2018 and 2022, where he built robust hiring processes and supported business growth through strong recruitment strategies.
He began his career with FPT Telecom as a Recruitment & Training Specialist, where he gained foundational experience in recruitment, training, and workforce development. Over the years, his expertise has grown to cover HR strategy, leadership coaching, change management, and talent transformation across Vietnam’s banking and financial services sector.
With this new appointment, Tony Nguyen returns to ACB to lead a critical transformation project that will shape the bank’s talent agenda and support its ambition of becoming one of Vietnam’s most customer-centric and future-ready financial institutions.
