Kolkata, West Bengal, India, June 2026 — PCBL Chemical has appointed Vaneet Kumar as Chief & Executive Director – Battery, strengthening the company’s leadership focus on battery technologies, energy storage solutions, and next-generation mobility ecosystems.
Kumar joins PCBL Chemical with more than two decades of experience spanning battery technology, electric mobility, energy storage systems, research and development, product engineering, customer management, and global business leadership.
Prior to joining PCBL Chemical, he served as Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer – Battery at Adani New Industries Ltd., where he was involved in advancing battery technology initiatives and supporting the company’s clean energy and energy storage ambitions.
Earlier, Kumar spent nearly a decade with SVOLT Energy Technology, holding several senior global leadership positions across Europe, China, and India.
His responsibilities included serving as General Manager – SVOLT India Business, Vice President – European Customer Business, Vice President – European R&D Centre, and Vice President – Global Customer Group, where he led customer business development, battery product development, research and development, project management, and global customer engagement initiatives.
Before joining SVOLT, Kumar served as Chief Engineer – Battery System Design at Great Wall Motors, where he played a key role in battery system engineering and technology development for electric mobility applications.
His career also includes a leadership role as Vice President – Battery Technology with Adani Group, contributing to the group’s early battery and energy storage initiatives.
Earlier, he worked as Senior System Engineer at Samsung SDI, supporting advanced battery technologies and energy storage solutions.
Prior to that, Kumar spent more than four years with Maruti Suzuki India Limited as a Manager, working on automotive engineering and technology-related initiatives.
He began his professional career as a Scientist with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), where he contributed to research and technology programs in India’s defence ecosystem.
Throughout his career, Kumar has developed extensive expertise across battery technology, energy storage systems, electric mobility, battery system engineering, research and development, product innovation, global customer management, technology strategy, and clean energy solutions.
