Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — Mahindra Finance has promoted Rajiv Patra to the position of Assistant Vice President – HR.
Patra has been associated with Mahindra Finance for nearly three years and has played a key role in supporting the organization’s people strategy and human resources initiatives.
Prior to his promotion, he served as Chief Manager, contributing to HR strategy, talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, and people-related transformation initiatives.
Before joining Mahindra Finance, Patra was associated with VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), where he held HR leadership roles including Senior Deputy Manager and Deputy Manager.
During his tenure at VECV, he led organizational development interventions, workforce restructuring initiatives, employee engagement programs, talent management processes, performance and potential assessment frameworks, manpower planning, compensation benchmarking, employer branding initiatives, and HR analytics programs. He also worked closely with leadership teams to drive organizational effectiveness and people capability development.
Earlier, Patra served as a Speaker Curation Professional with TED Conferences, supporting speaker engagement and content curation initiatives.
He also completed an HR internship with MetLife, where he worked on employee engagement, virtual workforce management, employee well-being, performance management, onboarding, rewards and recognition, and business continuity-related people practices.
Prior to transitioning into human resources, Patra served as Program Officer at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), supporting development and government-led initiatives. Earlier, he worked as a Network Support Engineer with DXC Technology.
Throughout his career, Patra has developed expertise across human resources strategy, organizational development, employee engagement, talent management, workforce planning, employer branding, HR analytics, performance management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.
He holds a postgraduate qualification in Human Resources Management from the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi, one of India’s leading institutions for HR education and management studies.
