Kolkata, West Bengal, India, April 2026 — Vivek Rajvanshi has taken charge as Dean – Development & External Relations at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, marking a significant leadership milestone in his academic journey with the institute.
In his new role, Vivek Rajvanshi will focus on strengthening the institute’s external engagement, development initiatives, alumni relations, industry partnerships, and wider community outreach. His appointment carries deep personal significance, as he has been associated with Indian Institute of Management Calcutta first as a doctoral scholar and later as a faculty member.
Vivek has been associated with Indian Institute of Management Calcutta for more than 11 years in faculty and leadership roles. Before taking charge as Dean – Development & External Relations, he served as Professor at the institute, contributing to academic leadership, research, teaching, and institutional development.
Earlier at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Vivek served as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, building a strong academic career within one of India’s most respected management institutions. His long association with the institute reflects his deep understanding of its academic culture, stakeholder ecosystem, and institutional priorities.
Before joining Indian Institute of Management Calcutta as a faculty member, Vivek served as Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, where he contributed to management education and research. His academic journey has been shaped by experience across two leading Indian Institutes of Management.
Earlier in his career, Vivek worked as Economic & Statistical Officer at the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Uttar Pradesh, where he gained experience in economics, statistics, public administration, and data-led institutional work before moving into academia.
Vivek holds a Fellowship in Finance & Control from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, further deepening his long-standing association with the institute as both an alumnus and faculty leader.
