Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, April 2026 – Capgemini Invent, the digital innovation and transformation arm of the Capgemini Group, has elevated Yassir Makkawi to the role of Senior Director – Enterprise Transformation & Head of Program Excellence for the Middle East, reinforcing its leadership capabilities in delivering large-scale digital transformation across the region.
In his expanded role, Yassir Makkawi will drive enterprise transformation initiatives and program excellence frameworks, particularly across complex, high-impact engagements in sectors such as telecommunications. His appointment reflects Capgemini Invent’s continued investment in strengthening transformation delivery and execution excellence across the Middle East.
Prior to this elevation, Yassir Makkawi served as Director at Capgemini Invent, where he led critical transformation programs, including the delivery of Saudi Arabia’s first 450 MHz mission-critical network, demonstrating his ability to manage large-scale, high-complexity digital initiatives.
Before joining Capgemini, he built an extensive career spanning nearly two decades with Ericsson, where he held multiple senior leadership roles across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia. As Head of Delivery & Project Operations – Digital Services (MEA Central Cluster), he led large portfolios across multiple countries, managing complex delivery ecosystems and driving operational excellence at scale.
During his tenure at Ericsson, he also served as Head of Digital Services Delivery for XL Axiata in Indonesia, where he was responsible for aligning stakeholders, managing delivery risks, and ensuring successful execution of large-scale transformation programs. He further held roles as Senior Program Director, delivering multi-million-dollar transformation programs in Australia, and Director of Operations in South Sudan, where he significantly improved service delivery quality and operational efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Yassir Makkawi held key roles with Huawei, ZTE Corporation, and Sudatel Telecom Group, building deep expertise in core network engineering, telecom infrastructure, and large-scale network transformation projects.
With over two decades of global experience across telecommunications, digital transformation, and program management, he brings strong capabilities in enterprise transformation, delivery excellence, and strategic program leadership.
