Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, June 2026 — Zydus Wellness has appointed Ankit Gupta as Category Lead, where he will spearhead the company’s sweeteners portfolio, including some of India’s most recognized health and wellness brands. In his new role, he will focus on driving category growth, strengthening consumer engagement, accelerating innovation, and expanding the market presence of the company’s sweetener business.
Ankit joins Zydus Wellness with over a decade of diverse experience spanning brand management, category leadership, sales, portfolio strategy, innovation, and P&L management across leading consumer goods organizations. Throughout his career, he has successfully built and scaled brands across food, beverages, health, and wellness categories while delivering sustained business growth and market share gains.
Prior to joining Zydus Wellness, Ankit served as Group Product Marketing Head – Foods at Marico Limited, where he led the Saffola Oats, Millets, and Cuppa portfolio. As the P&L owner for a portfolio exceeding ₹500 crore, he drove category turnaround initiatives, strengthened brand penetration, launched multiple successful innovations, and delivered sustained double-digit growth through strategic marketing interventions and consumer-centric innovation programs.
Earlier, he held leadership roles as Group Product Manager and Category Marketing Head at Marico, contributing significantly to portfolio expansion, innovation management, and brand-building initiatives across the foods business.
Before Marico, Ankit spent nearly five years with Tata Consumer Products, where he held positions including Senior Brand Manager and Brand Manager for Tata Tea Gold. During this period, he managed a portfolio valued at approximately ₹700 crore, leading brand transformation initiatives, regional growth strategies, innovation programs, and integrated marketing campaigns that strengthened market leadership and enhanced brand equity across key markets.
Prior to Tata Consumer Products, Ankit spent six years with MTR Foods, progressing through both sales and marketing leadership roles. As Marketing Manager, he led the MTR Masalas and Ready-to-Eat portfolio, driving significant market share growth, innovation-led expansion, and category development initiatives. Earlier, as Area Sales Manager, he built extensive experience in distribution management, channel development, sales planning, and market expansion across key territories.
With a strong track record across category management, brand building, innovation strategy, consumer marketing, revenue growth, and P&L leadership, Ankit brings valuable expertise to Zydus Wellness as the company continues to strengthen its leadership position within India’s growing health and wellness sector.
