Perth, Western Australia, Australia, March 2026 — JRG Energy has appointed Martin Pujol as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he will lead the company’s overall technical efforts across geoscience, consulting, and well servicing, and contribute as a member of JRG’s executive leadership team supporting company strategy and execution.
As Chief Technology Officer, Martin Pujol will also act as the senior QA/QC reviewer on significant technical works, oversee technical paper contributions including topic planning and author selection, and contribute at a senior level to business development and marketing priorities, including decisions related to conference participation and budgets. His remit also includes oversight of technical software subscriptions, cloud platforms, technical training and professional development programs, and succession planning and hiring for technical teams, while continuing to act as Reservoir Lead on JRG projects.
Before taking on this role, Martin Pujol led reservoir characterisation and direct-use feasibility work as Reservoir & Direct-use Lead at JRG Energy, supporting exploration, characterisation, and management of geothermal resources through conceptual geological and hydrogeological models and feasibility-driven technical input. His work included well testing interpretation, reservoir modelling support and peer review activities, geothermal resource due diligence, feasibility studies for direct-use projects, and design of well testing campaigns.
Earlier, he built extensive geothermal and groundwater consultancy experience at Rockwater Pty Ltd, progressing to Principal Geothermal Hydrogeologist and leading geothermal team responsibilities. His work included the design and management of drilling programs, supervision and interpretation of downhole surveys and sampling programs, pumping and tracer testing and analysis, flow and heat transport modelling, geochemical modelling, and end-to-end project delivery across feasibility and approvals for geothermal direct-use projects and large-scale resource assessments.
He previously served as Geothermal Project Manager at CFG Services in France, managing proposals, tenders, scope and contract documentation, and field supervision across geothermal projects, while contributing to feasibility work, well completion review, and business development activities. He also undertook independent consulting and translation assignments as a Freelance Hydrogeologist, and earlier built long-term experience with Rockwater in geothermal hydrogeology roles supporting drilling, modelling, and direct-use project delivery.
