Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, April 2026 – Robert Tanti has stepped into a new role as Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer at Opal, expanding his leadership mandate to oversee Human Resources, Safety, Corporate Affairs, and Brand portfolios across the organization’s APAC operations.
This appointment marks a significant progression in Robert’s journey with Opal, where he has been instrumental in shaping the people strategy and driving organizational transformation. In his new role, he will continue to play a critical role in aligning people, culture, and corporate affairs with Opal’s growth and sustainability ambitions.
Prior to this expanded role, Robert Tanti served as Chief People Officer at Opal for nearly three years, where he led the organization’s people and culture agenda, strengthening leadership capability and embedding a strong people-first approach across the business. His tenure at Opal has been marked by a focus on aligning HR strategy with operational excellence and business growth.
Before joining Opal, he held senior leadership roles at SPC Global, where he served as Chief People Officer and General Manager – People and Culture. During his time there, he played a key role in driving workforce transformation, strengthening organizational culture, and leading HR strategy during a critical growth phase.
Earlier, Robert was the Chief People & Corporate Services Officer at Hydro Tasmania, where he led people, safety, and corporate services functions, contributing to organizational transformation and capability building across the enterprise.
He has also held executive leadership roles at Kings Transport, StarTrack, and Elders, where he was responsible for leading large-scale HR functions, driving cultural transformation, and managing complex workforce environments across multiple geographies. His earlier career includes leadership roles at United Group Limited, Mars, and Simplot Australia Pty Ltd, where he built deep expertise in HR strategy, organizational development, and global workforce management.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Robert serves as a Committee Member at Regional Development Australia Hume, contributing to regional economic development and industry collaboration.
He holds a Master of Management in Strategy and Organisational Systems from Monash University, further strengthening his strategic leadership foundation.
With over two decades of experience across manufacturing, logistics, energy, and consumer industries, Robert brings a wealth of expertise in people leadership, corporate affairs, safety, and organizational transformation, positioning him strongly to support Opal’s continued growth.
