Doha, Qatar, May 2026 – Houssam Itani has started his new role as Group Chief Strategy & Technology Officer at AlRayan Bank Group, marking a strategic elevation within the organization. In this role, he will lead the bank’s strategy development, technology transformation, and execution of key initiatives aimed at accelerating growth and enhancing customer experience.
Houssam Itani has been associated with AlRayan Bank Group for over two years, previously serving as Group Chief Transformation Officer, where he led large-scale transformation initiatives across digital and physical customer experience, data analytics modernization, and agile operating model implementation.
In his new role as Group Chief Strategy & Technology Officer, he will expand his mandate to include strategy execution, technology modernization, product portfolio transformation, and P&L ownership, positioning the bank for sustained growth in a competitive financial services landscape.
Prior to joining AlRayan Bank Group, Houssam spent over a decade with Ernst & Young, where he rose to the position of Partner – MENA Banking & Capital Markets Leader. During his tenure, he advised leading financial institutions on strategy, transformation, and operational excellence across the Middle East and North Africa region.
He also contributed as a Global Accelerator Expert at Hult Prize Foundation, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives worldwide.
Houssam holds an MBA in Strategy & Organizational Leadership from IMD, Switzerland.
