In this expanded leadership role, she will continue to shape the global communications and public affairs strategy for the company’s oncology business, supporting its mission to advance innovative treatments for patients worldwide.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare communications, corporate affairs, and strategic marketing, Sarah Freeman has built an accomplished career driving communications strategies for leading global healthcare organizations. She has been with Johnson & Johnson for more than 10 years, steadily advancing through leadership roles across therapeutic communications, executive communications, research and development, and oncology.
Prior to her elevation, Sarah served as Global Head, Oncology Communications & Public Affairs, where she led communications for Johnson & Johnson’s industry-leading oncology portfolio spanning hematology and solid tumors. Earlier, she held the roles of Senior Director, Global Executive Communications & Business Development, Innovative Medicine, Senior Director, Global Therapeutic Area Communications Lead – R&D, and Director, Business Unit Communication, Cardiovascular & Metabolism, playing a pivotal role in strengthening executive messaging, business development communications, and therapeutic area engagement.
Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Sarah spent nearly six years with Novo Nordisk, where she held progressive leadership positions in global marketing and product communications. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience with Calcium USA, Dorland Global Public Relations, MSLGROUP, the National Parks Conservation Association, and the United Nations Foundation, building a strong foundation in public relations, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communications.
