Irvine, California, United States, July 2026 — Sequoia has appointed Vishakha Mittal Patel as HR Director. In her new role, she will lead strategic human resources initiatives, partnering with business leaders to strengthen organizational capability, develop people strategies, enhance leadership effectiveness, and support Sequoia’s continued growth as a strategic people advisory partner for investor-backed companies.
Vishakha brings nearly two decades of experience in human resources, business partnering, organizational development, talent strategy, employee relations, leadership coaching, and HR consulting across technology, retail, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, and professional services.
Prior to assuming her new position, she served as Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Sequoia, where she advised high-growth technology companies and other businesses on HR strategy, organizational design, compensation benchmarking, leadership development, compliance, employee relations, benefits strategy, and people infrastructure. She partnered closely with founders, executives, and business leaders to align people strategies with business growth while also mentoring HR professionals and contributing to enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. During her tenure, she was promoted from HR Business Partner to Senior Human Resources Business Partner.
Before joining Sequoia, Vishakha worked as Human Resources Business Partner II at Oasis, a Paychex company, where she supported more than 100 Professional Employer Organization (PEO) clients across multiple industries. In this role, she provided strategic HR consulting, organizational effectiveness solutions, talent management, compliance guidance, employee relations support, and leadership coaching while helping clients strengthen workforce performance and achieve business objectives.
Earlier, she served as Human Resources Generalist at In-N-Out Burger, where she managed employee relations, performance management, compliance, leadership training, investigations, policy implementation, and workforce development across the organization.
Vishakha also spent more than a decade with Target, progressing through several leadership positions including Senior Human Resources Specialist, District Administrator, Executive Team Leader, and Executive Intern. During this period, she gained extensive experience in talent acquisition, succession planning, compensation, employee lifecycle management, operational leadership, workforce planning, HR analytics, and leadership development while supporting large multi-location retail operations.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Irvine – The Paul Merage School of Business.
In her new role as HR Director at Sequoia, Vishakha will help strengthen the company’s people strategy, leadership capability, organizational effectiveness, and client-focused HR advisory services as it continues supporting high-growth businesses globally.
