Hyderabad, Telangana, India, July 2026 — Amgen has appointed Amrit Purohit as Director, Data Delivery & Insights, strengthening its data leadership capabilities as the global biotechnology company continues to advance science-driven innovation and patient-focused therapies.
In his new role, Amrit will contribute to Amgen’s data delivery and insights agenda, supporting the effective use of clinical and operational data to strengthen decision-making, improve execution, and advance the company’s broader research and development priorities.
Amrit joins Amgen from AstraZeneca, where he served as Director, Clinical Data Management, CDI. During his tenure, he contributed to clinical data strategy, governance, delivery, and operational leadership within a global pharmaceutical environment.
Prior to AstraZeneca, Amrit spent more than 15 years with Syneos Health Clinical Solutions, progressing through several leadership roles including Director, Clinical Data Science, Associate Director, Clinical Data Management, Senior Manager, Clinical Data Management, Manager, Clinical Data Management and Operations, and Clinical Data Manager.
At Syneos Health, he built extensive experience across clinical data management, data strategy, operational delivery, project leadership, performance management, and clinical development support. His long tenure reflects sustained growth across increasingly senior roles within the clinical research and biopharmaceutical services environment.
Earlier in his career, Amrit worked as Clinical Data Manager at PAREXEL, supporting clinical data management activities from Hyderabad. He previously served as Data Validation Associate and Process Analyst at Accenture, where he gained experience in pharmaceutical data processes and quality validation.
He began his professional journey as a Lecturer in Biochemistry at Don Bosco College, building an early foundation in life sciences before transitioning into clinical data management and pharmaceutical operations.
With more than two decades of experience spanning biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, clinical research, clinical data science, data management, and operational delivery, Amrit brings deep expertise in translating complex data environments into structured and reliable insights that support clinical development and business outcomes.
His appointment comes as biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies increasingly rely on high-quality data, advanced analytics, and technology-enabled insights to accelerate research, improve trial execution, and bring therapies to patients more efficiently.
