Singapore, June 2024 – Angelena Cala has joined Dymon Asia Capital as the new Head of Human Resources. With an extensive background in human resources management, strategic consulting, and people development, Angelena brings a wealth of experience to the team, aiming to enhance the firm’s HR strategies and support its workforce.

Before joining Dymon Asia Capital, Angelena served as an Advisor at Arcadia Consulting for approximately 2 years, where she provided strategic HR consulting services to various organizations. Concurrently, she worked as a Consultant at NTUC FairPrice on a contract basis for about 8 months, contributing to HR projects and initiatives.

Angelena co-founded and led the People Success division at Affinidi for 7 months, focusing on developing and implementing people strategies that aligned with the company’s goals. She also held the role of Group People Strategy Officer at LemmaTree for 2 years, driving HR transformations and strategic initiatives.

At Standard Chartered Bank, Angelena was the Global Head of HR – Commercial, Corporate Institutional Banking Products for over 2 years, overseeing HR functions and aligning them with business objectives. Prior to that, she was the HR Business Partner APAC – Global Data at Bloomberg LP for 1 year and 3 months, managing HR operations and talent strategies across the Asia Pacific region.

Angelena’s earlier career includes significant roles at Deutsche Bank, where she spent over 6 years in various positions, including Regional HR Business Partner – Global Transaction Banking APAC, Head of HR Singapore, and Regional Head of Talent & Development, Asia Pacific. She also served as the Head of Human Resources – Philippines and Director, Regional Head of Professional Resourcing, APAC.

Angelena began her career in executive search and recruitment, holding leadership positions at Russell Reynolds Associates, Korn Ferry (Futurestep), and Hudson Global Resources Japan, where she gained valuable experience in talent acquisition and management across different markets.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
