Kolkata, West Bengal, India, April 2026 — Ankit Kumar (Jha) has started a new position as Director of Human Resources at Marriott International, based at JW Marriott Kolkata, where he will lead the HR function, focusing on talent strategy, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness within the hospitality environment.
Prior to this role, Ankit Kumar (Jha) was associated with Hyatt Hotels Corporation for nearly a decade across multiple properties, most recently serving as Human Resources Director at Alila Diwa Goa – A Hyatt Brand. In this role, he led the HR function, driving people strategy, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives in a luxury hospitality setting.
Earlier, he held several progressive HR leadership roles within Hyatt Hotels Corporation, including Human Resources Manager across properties such as Hyatt Regency Kolkata and Hyatt Raipur, and Personnel Manager at Hyatt Regency Pune. His journey reflects consistent growth across HR operations, talent management, and compliance in the hospitality industry.
He also gained experience with Hilton Worldwide as Assistant Manager – Human Resources and began his HR career with roles at Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Trident Hotels, building a strong foundation in recruitment, employee relations, payroll management, statutory compliance, and training & development.
Notably, his early career also includes operational experience in Food & Beverage at Hyatt Regency Kolkata, giving him a well-rounded understanding of hospitality operations and employee lifecycle management.
Ankit Kumar (Jha) holds a PG Diploma in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, strengthening his expertise in labor law and compliance.
