Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States, June 2026 – BeOne Medicines has appointed Anurag Gupta as Executive Director, Advanced Analytics and Data Science. Announcing his new role, Gupta shared his enthusiasm about joining the global oncology company after a rewarding tenure at AstraZeneca, highlighting the opportunity to leverage data, advanced analytics, and digital innovation to drive meaningful business actions that support healthcare professionals and patients in a compliant manner.
Before joining BeOne Medicines, Anurag Gupta served as Senior Director – Digital Health at AstraZeneca, where he spent approximately three years leading initiatives at the intersection of healthcare, digital innovation, data science, and patient-centric transformation. His work focused on harnessing digital technologies and analytics to improve decision-making and create value across healthcare ecosystems.
Prior to AstraZeneca, Gupta spent nearly five years with Takeda, where he held leadership roles in commercial analytics and customer insights. As Head – US Oncology, Customer Insights and Advanced Analytics, he led strategic analytics initiatives supporting oncology business growth. Earlier, as Associate Director – Innovation and Commercial Analytics – Rare Diseases, he worked on data-driven commercial strategies and innovation programs. His tenure also encompassed the transition of Shire Pharmaceuticals into Takeda following the acquisition.
Earlier in his career, Gupta spent more than six years with Cognizant as Senior Consultant – SME for Oncology Commercial Analytics, supporting global pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations with advanced analytics, commercial effectiveness, and oncology-focused business intelligence solutions. During this period, he built extensive expertise in leveraging data to drive commercial and strategic outcomes within the life sciences sector.
Alongside his corporate experience, Gupta also contributed to academia as a Faculty Facilitator at Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he taught courses in Advanced Managerial Finance and Data Analysis. He further broadened his business and international management expertise while completing his MBA at Thunderbird, earning the prestigious TYCO International Business Ethics Scholarship.
His earlier career was deeply rooted in scientific research and healthcare innovation. Gupta worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant at GE Healthcare, a Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore’s Cancer Science Institute and Division of Bioengineering. He also served as a General Physician and Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where he contributed to multiple research projects and presented scientific work at national and international conferences. These experiences established a strong foundation in medical science, oncology research, and evidence-based decision-making that continues to inform his leadership in analytics and healthcare innovation.
Anurag Gupta earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he was recognized with the TYCO International Business Ethics Scholarship. He also holds a Master of Medical Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, combining deep scientific expertise with global business leadership capabilities.
