Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2024 – Ashish Shekher has been appointed as the Head of Talent Acquisition & HR Operations at JSW Steel, Sambalpur Works. where he will lead the organization’s HR functions, driving key talent acquisition initiatives and optimizing HR operations to align with JSW Steel’s strategic objectives.
Prior to joining JSW Steel, Ashish served as the General Manager – HR & IR at Yokohama India for nearly 6 years, where he led HR operations for the Dahej Plant and the Delhi NCR region. He was instrumental in managing HR and industrial relations, digital transformation, and employee engagement strategies, contributing to Yokohama India’s growth in both the OHT and PCR Tyres businesses.
Before his tenure at Yokohama, Ashish held the role of Unit Head HR at Adani Wilmar Limited in Mundra, Gujarat for 7 months, where he oversaw human resources operations and supported the company’s workforce during a key transition period.
Ashish also worked with Welspun Group for nearly 4 years, where he served as the Head HR for WCL-PCMD Unit and later as Associate General Manager – HR. During this time, he led HR initiatives at the plant level, ensuring operational efficiency and fostering a productive work environment.
His earlier career includes working as Senior Manager – Corporate HR at Viraj Profiles Ltd for 1.5 years, where he contributed to corporate HR strategies for one of the largest stainless steel producers globally. Ashish played a key role in HR operations across multiple international markets.
