Paris, France, April 2026 — Sweetch Energy has appointed Bertrand Chupin as Chief Executive Officer, marking an important leadership step for the renewable energy company as it continues to scale its osmotic power ambitions. With more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, he will now lead all of the company’s operations. His appointment reflects strong expertise across energy transition, hydrogen, industrial leadership, business development, and operational transformation.
Before taking on this role, Bertrand Chupin served at Sweetch Energy as Deputy CEO. Prior to that, he was Owner of Enertran Advisory, where he advised C-suite leaders on strategy and organizational performance, particularly in the energy transition space. He was also associated with Rely as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), contributing to the development of integrated green hydrogen solutions. These assignments reflect a strong transition into top executive leadership within the broader clean energy ecosystem.
Earlier, he held several leadership roles at Technip Energies, including Green Hydrogen Joint Venture Lead Negotiator and President & CEO T.EN Loading Systems S.A.S. Before that, he spent significant time with TechnipFMC and FMC Technologies, serving as President & CEO FMC Technologies S.A.S, President & CEO FMC Technologies S.A., Director Business Development Asia Pacific & Middle East, and Projects Program Manager. These roles reflect deep experience across general management, business development, international negotiations, and industrial operations.
In the earlier phase of his career, Bertrand Chupin was associated with Galp Energia as Development Projects Manager, with Total E&P in project and engineering roles, with Total as R&D Reservoir Engineer, and with TotalEnergies and COMECA S.A. in trainee assignments. Together, his experience across Sweetch Energy, Enertran Advisory, Rely, Technip Energies, TechnipFMC, FMC Technologies, Galp Energia, and Total reflects a long and accomplished leadership journey across the global energy sector.
With extensive experience in energy, industrial operations, green hydrogen, strategy, and executive management, Bertrand Chupin brings a strong and well-rounded profile to his new role. His appointment as Chief Executive Officer is expected to support Sweetch Energy as it advances osmotic power as a new source of clean, continuous, and cost-efficient electricity.
