Lake County, Illinois, United States, June 2026 — AbbVie has appointed Bruna Assuncao Abdanur Gaudencio as Associate Director, Business Human Resources – Immunology, strengthening its people leadership team within one of the company’s most strategically important therapeutic areas.
In her new role, Bruna serves as a strategic human resources partner to the Immunology business, helping shape and implement people strategies aligned with organizational priorities and business objectives. Her responsibilities include leadership development, succession planning, talent management, workforce capability building, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and driving high-performance, inclusive workplace cultures.
Bruna transitions into this position after serving as Associate Director, Business Human Resources for Clinical Development Operations at AbbVie, where she partnered with clinical site leadership and clinical data strategy teams to develop HR strategies, support business transformation initiatives, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
Prior to joining AbbVie, she spent more than a decade with Valmont Industries, steadily advancing through increasingly senior human resources leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Senior Director Human Resources – Global Agriculture, leading global people strategies, workforce planning, succession management, employee relations, talent development, and organizational transformation initiatives across the business.
Earlier at Valmont, she held leadership positions including Director Human Resources – Global Irrigation, Regional Human Resources Manager – Latin America, Human Resources Manager – Brazil, and Human Resources Coordinator. During this period, she built extensive expertise in talent management, leadership development, organizational design, employee engagement, workforce planning, HR operations, and international human resources management.
Before Valmont, Bruna worked as an HR Business Partner and Leadership Development professional at Usiminas, supporting a manufacturing workforce of approximately 7,500 employees while focusing on leadership development, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and HR analytics. She also served as an HR Analyst and Business Partner at Vale (Fosfertil), where she contributed to talent management, compensation, employee relations, and organizational development initiatives.
Alongside her corporate career, Bruna contributed to academia as a Professor at FCETM – Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas do Triângulo Mineiro, teaching subjects related to people management, leadership, and team development.
Academically, she further strengthened her leadership credentials through an Executive Master of Human Resource Management from Cornell University and an MBA in Human Resources and Business from Fundação Dom Cabral.
With nearly two decades of experience spanning pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, agriculture, mining, and industrial sectors, Bruna brings a strong combination of strategic HR leadership, talent development expertise, and organizational transformation capability to her expanded role at AbbVie.
