Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, June 2026 — Appian has announced that Charlie Hutchinson will join the company as Senior Vice President & General Manager, APAC & Japan, effective from the beginning of August 2026. Bringing more than 20 years of enterprise technology and sales leadership experience, Charlie will lead Appian’s business across the Asia-Pacific and Japan region, supporting the company’s continued expansion and helping customers accelerate digital transformation through AI-powered process automation.
Prior to joining Appian, Charlie Hutchinson served as Vice President & Country Manager, Australia and New Zealand at Workato, where he was responsible for driving regional growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding the company’s presence across the Australian and New Zealand markets. His leadership further reinforced his reputation for building high-performing teams and delivering strong commercial outcomes within the enterprise software industry.
Before Workato, Charlie spent more than four years at Okta as Vice President, Australia and New Zealand, leading the identity and access management company’s regional operations during a period of significant market growth. Earlier, he served for nearly seven years at Salesforce as Strategic Accounts Director, Utilities, where he partnered with major enterprise customers on digital transformation initiatives and strategic technology investments, building deep expertise in enterprise cloud solutions and customer engagement.
Earlier in his career, Charlie held leadership positions with Citrix Systems, where he served as Regional Sales Manager, APAC, Siltech PMR as Sales Director, and VANOC as Fleet Maintenance Director during the Vancouver Olympic Games. Across these diverse leadership roles, he has developed extensive expertise in enterprise software, regional business leadership, sales strategy, customer success, operational management, and team development, establishing a successful career across the technology sector.
