Daniel Lever Appointed as Global Head of Academy & Learning Technology at Swissport

United Kingdom, September 2024 – Daniel Lever has been appointed as the Global Head of Academy & Learning Technology at Swissport. In this role, he will lead Swissport’s global learning and development (L&D) initiatives, focusing on innovative learning technologies, leadership development, and improving the overall learning culture across the organization. Lever will also play a key role in managing the Learning Management System (LMS) and ensuring that Swissport’s L&D strategies align with its broader business objectives.

Prior to joining Swissport, Daniel Lever served as Innovation Director Learning at Mintra for over 1 year. In this role, he was responsible for delivering digital learning solutions across the group, managing a team focused on content development, learning technology, and digital tools. Lever provided strategic leadership in developing eLearning strategies and managing resources to ensure successful and timely project delivery.

Earlier, Lever was the Digital Academy Lead at Wärtsilä Voyage, where he led a team of learning content designers and coordinators for nearly 2 years. He spearheaded efforts to commercialize the academy’s learning products and implemented a ‘digital first’ strategy, which resulted in increased delivery of virtual and face-to-face training interventions. His leadership strengthened internal relationships and increased revenues from key client partnerships.

Lever also served as the Head of Learning at Global Marine Group for over 6 years, where he was responsible for the global L&D function. He designed and delivered comprehensive learning management systems, supported talent management, and facilitated leadership development programs. His work in implementing talent and apprenticeship programs significantly contributed to the company’s long-term strategic goals.

Earlier in his career, Lever was the Fleet Training Manager at ORCA Offshore for 4 years. He managed global training solutions for marine fleet assessors and developed competence systems that ensured compliance with industry standards. His expertise in performance management and quality assurance contributed to operational excellence in training solutions for offshore and marine operations.

In addition to his L&D roles, Lever spent over 11 years at Brady Corporation as the Quotes Team Leader, where he coached teams, developed management reports, and contributed to sales and revenue targets through creative product sourcing and customized solutions.
