CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES, June 2026 — Takeda has appointed Darshan Joshi as Head of Commercial Technology Blueprint Transformation for its U.S. Business Unit (USBU) and Oncology Business Unit (OBU), entrusting him with one of the company’s most strategic transformation initiatives focused on data, digital, and AI-enabled commercial capabilities.
In this newly expanded leadership role, Darshan will define and drive Takeda’s three-to-five-year commercial technology transformation blueprint, establishing the target-state architecture, foundational data capabilities, AI governance frameworks, and technology standards that will support future commercial growth across sales, marketing, medical affairs, and market access functions.
The appointment comes as Takeda continues one of the pharmaceutical industry’s most ambitious transformation programs, supported by multiple product launches and a growing portfolio spanning oncology, rare diseases, neuroscience, plasma-derived therapies, and gastroenterology.
Darshan brings more than two decades of experience in commercial technology, analytics, data strategy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and life sciences consulting. Prior to assuming this role, he served as Head of Commercial Data Management and Analytics – Global Oncology, Data, Digital & Technology at Takeda Oncology, where he led the organization responsible for the oncology commercial data ecosystem and advanced analytics capabilities.
Earlier, he built and led Takeda Oncology’s commercial data management organization as Head of Data Management, DD&T – Global Oncology Business Unit, establishing commercial data platforms, analytics ecosystems, governance structures, and investment frameworks designed to maximize the value of data and technology investments across global markets.
Before joining Takeda, Darshan served as Associate Partner, Watson Health Consulting for Life Sciences at IBM, where he advised leading life sciences organizations on large-scale data, analytics, digital health, and transformation initiatives. He was responsible for driving advisory services focused on real-world evidence, digital therapeutics, clinical trial innovation, and healthcare analytics.
Prior to IBM, Darshan spent nearly thirteen years with Accenture, progressing through multiple leadership positions within the Applied Intelligence and Management Consulting practices. During his tenure, he led large-scale analytics transformations, commercial data modernization programs, governance frameworks, advanced analytics initiatives, and business intelligence solutions for leading pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations globally.
His early professional experience includes a role with Verizon Data Services, where he focused on customer channel analytics and data-driven business insights, laying the foundation for a career centered on data, technology, and business transformation.
Throughout his career, Darshan has built deep expertise across commercial technology strategy, AI transformation, data governance, advanced analytics, business intelligence, digital innovation, customer experience, and organizational transformation within highly regulated industries.
In his new role, he will be responsible for ensuring that every commercial technology, data, and AI investment across Takeda’s U.S. and Oncology businesses contributes toward a unified, scalable, AI-enabled operating model. His mandate includes creating a reusable commercial technology foundation that enables faster product launches, improved commercial execution, stronger data governance, and accelerated innovation across the enterprise.
