Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, May 2025 – Dr. Mamello Masia has joined McDonald’s South Africa as Chief People Officer, bringing a wealth of experience in strategic human resources leadership across the financial services, manufacturing, chemicals, and retail property sectors.
Dr. Masia was most recently Human Resources Executive at Pareto Group and Mowana Properties, where she led HR strategy for both organizations. Prior to this, she served as General Manager, Human Resources at Protea Chemicals, a member of the Omnia Group, where she led transformation and people strategy across a complex industrial environment.
She also brings extensive experience in multinational environments, having held key regional leadership roles at Evonik and Emerson. During her time at Emerson she worked on expatriate recruitment, mobility and remuneration extensively. At Emerson, Protea and Pareto, she took the initiatives to introduce new HR systems
Earlier in her career, Dr. Masia also worked with Nedbank and Toyota South Africa Motors.
In addition to her executive career, she serves as a Non-Executive Director at Standard Lesotho Bank, is a Member of the Institute of Directors South Africa, and is known for her commitment to governance and ethical leadership.
