Toronto, Ontario, Canada, September 2024 – Elizabeth McSavaney has been named Vice President, Head of HR Canada and North America HR Transformation at Zurich Canada. In this expanded role, Elizabeth will continue to lead the company’s People Strategy in Canada while taking on the responsibility of HR Transformation across North America. Her focus will be on creating a unified HR function that drives outstanding people and business outcomes, ensuring that HR practices align with business priorities throughout the region.
Elizabeth joined Zurich Canada in March 2022 as Vice President, Head of Human Resources. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in driving the company’s HR strategy, fostering an inclusive culture, and developing programs that attracted and retained top talent. Under her leadership, Zurich Canada received multiple accolades, including the Greater Toronto Top Employer Award and the 5-Star Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award from Insurance Business Canada.

Before her time at Zurich, Elizabeth held the position of Head of HR for Canada and Bermuda at AIG, where she led a team of HR professionals and focused on employee health, well-being, and DEI initiatives. Her leadership contributed to AIG being recognized as a Top Employer in the GTA and for Young Professionals.
Earlier in her career, Elizabeth served as Senior Change Manager at Unilever, where she led the transformation of the company’s North American headquarters, implementing agile work processes and enhancing employee engagement. She also worked as HR Manager at Unilever’s Nevada ice cream factory, where she led a large-scale transformation that increased productivity and operational efficiency.
