Atlanta, Georgia, United States, August 2026 — Southwire Company has appointed Elizabeth Spence as Executive Vice President & Chief People & Culture Officer, strengthening its executive leadership team as the company continues to advance its people-first culture and long-term business strategy. In her new role, she will lead Southwire’s global people and culture agenda, overseeing talent strategy, leadership development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and culture transformation to support the company’s continued growth.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience across human resources, organizational development, talent management, change leadership, communications, and business transformation, Elizabeth Spence brings an exceptional track record of building high-performing organizations and aligning people strategies with business performance across global enterprises.
Prior to joining Southwire Company, Elizabeth served as Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Graphic Packaging International, a Fortune 500 global consumer packaging company. She provided strategic leadership for global human resources and communications across a workforce of approximately 25,000 employees, helping strengthen organizational capability, leadership effectiveness, and employee engagement while supporting the company’s global growth agenda.
Before that, she was Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Gypsum Management and Supply (GMS), where she led the human resources function for the North American specialty building products distributor supporting more than 6,200 employees. Earlier in her career, Elizabeth held senior leadership positions at Assurant, including Vice President, Human Resources and Vice President, Talent Development & Employee Engagement, where she led enterprise-wide talent strategies, succession planning, learning initiatives, and employee engagement programs that significantly enhanced leadership mobility and organizational capability.
Elizabeth also spent over six years with The Coca-Cola Company, serving as Director, Human Resources and Director, Change Management, where she led large-scale organizational transformation initiatives, post-merger integration programs, organizational redesign, and the establishment of a Change Management Center of Excellence. Her earlier career includes leadership roles with FireFly Facilitation, Inc. and AT&T/BellSouth, where she gained extensive experience across organizational development, consulting, strategic communications, project management, and leadership development.
