Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, June 2026 — Airbus has elevated Harsh Shah to the position of Head of Procurement Strategy, Airbus India & South Asia, recognizing his exceptional contributions across digital transformation, innovation, programme management, business strategy, and aerospace engineering during a remarkable nine-year journey with the organization.
In his new role, Shah will lead procurement strategy initiatives for Airbus India & South Asia, supporting the company’s efforts to strengthen supplier partnerships, optimize procurement operations, drive strategic sourcing initiatives, and contribute to Airbus’ long-term growth objectives in one of its most important global markets. His elevation reflects Airbus’ confidence in his leadership capabilities and his proven ability to drive business transformation and strategic impact.
Most recently, Shah served as Executive Assistant (Chief of Staff) to the Head of Digital, where he played a pivotal role in programme management, business relationship management, and strategic initiatives across Airbus’ digital organization. In this capacity, he worked closely with senior leadership to drive organizational priorities, support business transformation programs, and enhance cross-functional collaboration across the enterprise.
Prior to that, Shah held several influential leadership positions within Airbus, including Innovation Lead and Automation Lead, where he spearheaded digital transformation initiatives and championed innovation-led business improvements. His work contributed to enhancing operational efficiency, accelerating automation programs, and supporting Airbus’ broader digitalization agenda. Earlier, he served as an Engineer – Airframe (Structures), leading structural testing initiatives, supplier engagement programs, and technical qualification projects while supporting engineering excellence across global operations.
Shah’s career progression at Airbus also includes assignments as Strategy and Market Intelligence Analyst in the office of the President, Airbus India & South Asia, where he was responsible for regional business reporting, annual operating plans, market intelligence, and airline strategy initiatives. Beginning his Airbus journey as an Associate Engineer, he contributed to supplier assessments and played a key role in establishing an additive engineering platform. His diverse experience across engineering, strategy, innovation, automation, and leadership functions has enabled him to develop a unique blend of technical and business expertise that will serve him well in his new leadership role.
