Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Joy Banerjee has joined CDSL – Central Depository Services India Ltd as the Head Human Resource and Administration. In this pivotal role, Joy will oversee employee engagement, talent management, talent development, and culture building to align the organization’s HR strategies with its business objectives.
Joy Banerjee brings over two decades of HR leadership experience to his new role at CDSL. Prior to this, he served as the Group Head Human Resources at IL&FS Group, where he led HR and administration for the organization, focusing on employee relations, statutory compliance, compensation benchmarking, and leadership development. His tenure saw strategic advancements in talent management and organizational effectiveness.

Before IL&FS, Joy held the role of Senior Vice President Human Resources at Liberty General Insurance, where he was instrumental in setting up the L&D function, crafting HR policies, and implementing strategic frameworks to support a workforce of over 600 employees and an extended network of 3,000 channel partners. His contributions included the deployment of innovative training tools and leadership development programs.
Earlier in his career, Joy worked with Blue Dart DHL Courier as General Manager Human Resources, where he established a unified learning and development strategy post-acquisition and introduced technology-driven improvements to enhance operational efficiency. At Tata AIA Life Insurance, as Head of Training, Business Excellence, and Direct Marketing, he spearheaded leadership development, succession planning, and customer-centric initiatives.
Joy’s career began with roles at LIC, Max New York Life Insurance, and Aviva Life Insurance, where he honed his expertise in training, employee engagement, and customer relationship management.
