Bethesda, Maryland, United States, July 2026 — Liquidity Services has appointed Karen Fascenda as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In this role, she will lead the company’s global people strategy, talent agenda, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, culture, and human resources operations as Liquidity Services continues expanding its position as the world’s leading B2B marketplace for surplus assets.
Karen brings more than three decades of executive human resources leadership experience spanning technology, e-commerce, telecommunications, financial services, and healthcare organizations. Her expertise includes talent strategy, organizational transformation, leadership development, culture building, executive coaching, and scaling high-growth businesses.
Prior to joining Liquidity Services, Karen served as Chief People Officer at Udemy, where she led the global people organization and helped strengthen the company’s talent, leadership, and culture strategy during a pivotal phase of growth. Following her executive tenure, she continued supporting the organization as an Advisor, providing strategic guidance to the leadership team.
Before Udemy, Karen served as Vice President, People (Head of People & Culture) at Gopuff, where she built and led the company’s global People & Culture function during a period of rapid international expansion. She partnered closely with executive leadership to scale the organization, strengthen leadership capability, and develop the people infrastructure needed to support hypergrowth.
Earlier, Karen spent more than four years with Comcast, progressing through several senior HR leadership roles. She most recently served as Vice President Human Resources – Freedom Region, after previously leading the California Region Human Resources organization. Earlier, she played a key role in building Xfinity Mobile while serving as Executive Director – Human Resources, XFINITY Mobile & Strategic Development, partnering with business leaders to establish people strategies for one of Comcast’s major growth businesses.
Karen also spent nearly ten years with eBay Enterprise, where she held a succession of leadership roles across talent acquisition, learning and development, organizational development, and HR business partnering. During her tenure, she progressed from Director – Training & Development to Vice President – Talent Acquisition, Training & Development, later serving as Senior Director – Learning & Organization Development and Senior Director – Human Resources Business Partner, supporting enterprise-wide people transformation following GSI Commerce’s acquisition by eBay.
Earlier in her career, Karen spent almost seven years with Siemens, where she held leadership roles in executive development, leadership development, organizational consulting, and learning, supporting both Siemens Corporate and Siemens Medical Solutions.
She began her professional journey with First Union National Bank, where she spent nearly a decade progressing through multiple HR and banking leadership roles, including Assistant Vice President – HR Generalist, Training & Development Team Leader, Training Consultant, and Personal Banker, building a strong foundation in talent development and organizational capability.
Karen holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Dynamics, with a concentration in Organizational Consulting and Executive Coaching, from the University of Pennsylvania, further strengthening her expertise in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and executive coaching.
Her appointment reflects Liquidity Services’ commitment to investing in leadership, people, and organizational capability as it continues driving global growth, innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation across its marketplace platform.
