Stamford, Connecticut, United States, July 2026 — Synchrony has appointed Melissa Douros as Chief Product Officer. In her new role, she will lead the company’s enterprise product strategy, digital innovation, customer experience, and product transformation initiatives, helping strengthen Synchrony’s consumer financing ecosystem while accelerating innovation, growth, and long-term value creation.
Melissa brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning financial services, fintech, digital transformation, product management, customer experience, and enterprise technology. She has built a distinguished career leading large-scale product organizations, driving digital innovation, modernizing platforms, and delivering customer-centric transformation across global organizations.
Prior to joining Synchrony, Melissa served as Chief Product Officer at Green Dot Corporation, where she transformed the company’s product organization, modernized product delivery, introduced agile operating models, strengthened governance and compliance, and led enterprise-wide product strategy to accelerate revenue growth and platform modernization. She also played a key role in risk management, customer experience, AI initiatives, and finance transformation.
Earlier, she spent nearly five years at Discover Financial Services, most recently as Vice President – Digital Product Experience, where she led enterprise-wide digital transformation across consumer banking, credit cards, lending, and deposits. She built and scaled multidisciplinary product, design, and analytics teams while driving customer journey optimization, digital product innovation, UX transformation, and measurable business growth.
Melissa had previously built her career at Discover Financial Services through successive leadership roles including Senior Manager – Product Management, Performance Marketing Leader, and Product Owner, where she led digital product strategy, customer experience transformation, product roadmaps, digital marketing, innovation initiatives, and enterprise platform modernization.
Between her two tenures at Discover, Melissa served as Senior Director, Head of Digital Product, Design and Research at Great Wolf Resorts, where she established the company’s first digital product organization, launched its first mobile application, modernized digital customer journeys, and introduced advanced digital technologies including conversational AI and augmented reality to enhance guest experiences.
She also served as Senior Director of Digital Product Customer Experience at E*TRADE, where she led digital product strategy following a major acquisition, established agile product practices, and built high-performing product and design teams supporting digital trading platforms.
Earlier in her career, Melissa founded Dovco Collection Solutions, successfully building and growing a customer-focused collections business while leading operations, product design, customer experience, and digital strategy. She also held operational leadership positions with Komatsu Financial and OSI Collection Services, developing expertise across operations management, customer service, analytics, and process optimization.
Melissa holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University, providing a strong academic foundation for her expertise in product innovation, user experience, digital transformation, and customer-centric design.
Her appointment reflects Synchrony’s continued commitment to accelerating product innovation, digital transformation, AI-enabled experiences, and customer-focused financial solutions.
