New York, United States, July 2026 — Neuberger has appointed Michael Nirschl as its inaugural Chief Platform Officer, a newly created executive role that unifies the firm’s Global Technology, Operations, and Business Enablement functions into a single integrated platform. In this position, Michael will partner closely with the firm’s investment and client coverage leadership to transform Neuberger’s operating platform into a strategic competitive advantage by delivering sharper investment insights, enhanced client experiences, and greater scalability across the business.
Michael brings more than two decades of experience spanning financial services, technology, artificial intelligence, data, and platform transformation. Prior to joining Neuberger, he served as Managing Director and Chief Information Officer of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), where he led the technology, data, and platform operations supporting one of the world’s largest active asset managers. As a member of the MSIM senior leadership team, he played a pivotal role in operating model design, capital allocation, and large-scale platform modernization initiatives that delivered significant cost efficiencies, improved client experiences, and strengthened operational resilience.
Earlier at Morgan Stanley, Michael served as Managing Director and Chief Data & Analytics Officer, where he built and led the firm’s global data, analytics, and AI strategy. During his tenure, he developed next-generation data platforms supporting the firm’s expansion from approximately $500 billion to $1.5 trillion in assets under management, established enterprise data governance frameworks, led complex data integration initiatives following major acquisitions, and drove significant productivity gains through automation, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
Before entering executive leadership in financial services, Michael spent more than seven years at Google, where he held several senior engineering leadership roles. He contributed to machine learning innovations across speech recognition and digital advertising platforms, leading the development of advanced neural network language models that enhanced YouTube speech recognition while also driving large-scale advertising infrastructure projects. Earlier in his career, he held quantitative trading and technology leadership positions at UBS, Goldman Sachs, Betgenius, and Softwire Technology, building deep expertise in algorithmic trading, quantitative analytics, enterprise software engineering, and financial technology.
With an exceptional background spanning enterprise platforms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantitative finance, cloud technology, and large-scale business transformation, Michael has consistently delivered technology strategies that create measurable commercial value.
