Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — Axis Finance Limited has appointed Neeru Bafna as Head of Human Resources. In her new role, she will lead the company’s people strategy, talent agenda, leadership development, organizational capability, culture transformation, and human capital initiatives as Axis Finance continues to strengthen its position in India’s financial services sector.
Neeru brings over two decades of leadership experience spanning banking, financial services, renewable energy, telecommunications, media, hospitality, consulting, and entrepreneurship. Throughout her career, she has partnered closely with executive leadership teams and Boards to build high-performing organizations, strengthen leadership capability, and align people strategy with business growth.
Prior to joining Axis Finance, Neeru served as Head of Human Resources at Axis Capital Ltd., where she led the organization’s people agenda, partnering with business leaders to strengthen organizational capability, talent management, leadership development, employee experience, and culture.
Earlier, she was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Virescent Infrastructure, the renewable energy platform backed by KKR in India. During her tenure, she led enterprise-wide human resources strategy, talent management, organizational development, and leadership initiatives supporting the company’s growth in the renewable energy sector.
Before that, Neeru held a key leadership role at Axis Bank as HR Head – Corporate Banking while also leading several enterprise Centres of Excellence, including HR Technology, Campus Recruitment, Employer Branding, Employee Experience, and Diversity & Inclusion. She partnered with businesses including Wholesale Banking, Commercial Banking, Treasury, and International Banking to build scalable people strategies aligned with business objectives.
Earlier in her career, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Eros International PLC, where she led the organization’s HR function during a period of business transformation.
Neeru also played a pivotal role at Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited as HR Lead – Customer Service Delivery, where she helped establish the customer service organization from the ground up during Jio’s rapid national expansion. She designed and implemented unified HR practices across 28 telecom circles and multiple service partners, supporting a workforce of more than 10,000 employees.
Demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit, she co-founded a retail technology start-up, building a cloud-based platform to improve supply chain integration and inventory management for small retailers.
Earlier, Neeru worked as an HR Consultant with Tata Consultancy Services, supporting global HR initiatives across India and Europe. She also served as Regional HR Head at BIG FM and began her HR leadership journey as Assistant Manager – Human Resources at Marriott Hotels.
Neeru holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Development from Mumbai University.
In her new role at Axis Finance Limited, she will lead the organization’s people strategy, strengthen leadership capability, foster a high-performance culture, and support the company’s continued growth through strategic human capital initiatives.
