Singapore, Singapore, July 2026 — Omnicom Public Relations has appointed Hin-Yan Wong as Head of Strategy and Planning, Asia Pacific (APAC), strengthening its regional strategic leadership as the global communications network continues to expand its integrated advisory, analytics, and intelligence capabilities across one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
In his new role, Hin-Yan will lead strategy and planning across the Asia-Pacific region, working closely with agency leadership and client teams to develop data-driven communications strategies, accelerate innovation, strengthen integrated planning capabilities, and deliver measurable business outcomes for clients across diverse industries.
Prior to joining Omnicom Public Relations, Hin-Yan spent nearly seven years with Weber Shandwick in Singapore, most recently serving as Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning & Head of Analytics+Intelligence, APAC. During his tenure, he led regional strategic planning and analytics functions, combining communications strategy with data intelligence to help multinational organizations navigate increasingly complex business and reputation environments. Earlier, he served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning & Intelligence, helping establish advanced strategic planning capabilities across the region.
Earlier in his career, Hin-Yan served as Chief Marketing Officer at One Earth Designs, where he led the company’s global marketing, communications, and sales initiatives, supporting the commercialization of clean energy technologies.
He also worked as a Subject Matter Expert with the UK Ministry of Defence, where he designed and delivered the Defence Communications Change Programme, a flagship UK government transformation initiative focused on strategic communications.
His previous leadership experience also includes serving as Head of Research, Strategy and Planning at Connect Advertising and Marketing, leading brand and digital strategy for major international clients including Bentley Motors, BAXI, CAT, MAN, and Lafarge/Tarmac. Earlier, he held digital strategy leadership roles with Proximity London, worked as an Independent Strategy Consultant supporting UK government digital communications programmes, and spent more than five years as a Senior Strategy Consultant at Rufus Leonard, delivering digital transformation and brand strategy projects for organizations including O2, Shell, Royal Mail, BT, Credit Suisse, and the UK Government.
Hin-Yan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Strategic Planning and Decision Making from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he developed and expanded Robustness Analysis alongside Professor Jonathan Rosenhead. He also earned a Master of Science (Economics) in Operational Research and Information Systems from LSE, and later completed a Nanodegree in Deep Learning from Udacity, reflecting his continued focus on advanced analytics and emerging technologies.
