Mumbai, India, – Axis Bank has promoted Priyanka Shankar to Vice President of Human Resources. With over 20 years of experience in human resources management and consulting, Shankar will now oversee HR operations and strategies across the bank’s extensive network.
Extensive Career Journey at Axis Bank: Priyanka Shankar joined Axis Bank in March 2021 as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, she spearheaded key projects in culture, recognition, employee listening, and engagement. She effectively leveraged data insights from sentiment analysis tools like Amber to reduce attrition and improve employee engagement.
Shankar also designed and implemented talent management programs for junior and middle management and curated organization-wide recognition initiatives that fostered a culture of appreciation. Her work in assessments included developing tools to evaluate cognitive ability and values orientation and conducting an interview certification program for HR managers.
Before her tenure at Axis Bank, Shankar served as an HR Consultant at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited from 2014 to 2021. Here, she played a pivotal role in managing HR projects that contributed significantly to the organization’s success.
Earlier in her career, she was a Senior Manager at ICICI Prudential and Manager of HR at IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd., where she honed her skills in HR strategy and talent management. She also held key HR roles at Aon and Ranbaxy Laboratories, contributing to her comprehensive understanding of HR operations in diverse sectors.
